I'm sure you mean well, but you are doing a very dangerous thing by touting a very dangerous surgery! Bariatric surgery doesn't need an ad agent to get business. And, the decision to have bariatric surgery is strictly up to the individual and their Dr. I have had the surgery and I, too, know the ins and outs of it. But I would never suggest to someone they should have it. It should be a last ditch effort before death and a decision not to be made lightly. We Americans have gotten so used to a "quick fix" for everything that we have forgotten how to really WORK to achieve an end. I include myself here. Obesity is unhealthy, for sure, but encouraging others to undergo a very risky and potentially deadly procedure based on your success is careless, to say the least. Shame on you.
References :
RN retired and been there.

Thank you for providing some relevant information on a widely misunderstood topic. I have been giving thought to gastric bypass, after our third baby my weight has been hovering "much higher" than is healthy. I have been doing absolutly everything I can think of to try and take some of it off (I'm not asking to be supermodel thin, I'd just love to get to a healthier weight)

Your "question" has not swayed my decision one way or the other...but has simply given me more to think about.

This "question" actually isn't spam...if it were spam it would be flogging the miracle of one company, website or individual (spam is used generally to generate some type of income...whether it be actual sales or web traffick or whatever...this doesn't, it simply informs and offers far too many and to broad a spectrum of websites to be "working" for the good of any "one" except the good done for the "one" who posted the question, feeling a little better for a little bit after offering their P.O.V. for something that is obviously very personal and of value to them...if it's not of value to you...keep browsing...plenty of other questions in Yahoo, if it is...take it for what it's worth, weigh it against your own personal opinions & values and move on with whatever you learn from that.
References :
me

well I live in the same place and don't move around but I haven't seen the same doctor the whole time I'm 37 weeks I wish I could see the same one but the place I go to has 4-5 doctors and they want you too see everyone because you won't know who will be delivering your baby..(which I hate) as long as your are not high risk I see no problem in seeing different doctors..if you become high risk I would stick to the same doctor just so he would know your whole history and you wouldn't have to explain it to 2 or 3 different doctors at first you see the doctor every 4 weeks then once you get so many weeks it goes to 2 weeks then at 35 weeks you see them every week...but you should be fine when you move just have your rcords sent to that hospital

Hope this helped
References :
I had a Gastric Bypass with a gastrostomy back in 1984. I presently weigh 125 lbs. I went from 261lbs.,down to 112 lbs., too skinny ! I love my weight now, after 22 years, I only gained back weight to 186, but I was on medication, that causes weight gain. I soon took it back off after going off my med. I am 5'4" tall and I wear a size 6, and some 4/5"s. I still can't eat ice-cream, and sweetened drinks of any kind. I do have bouts of diarrhea, and some medications hurt my stomach, but over all, it was the best thing I ever did. Now if I could afford to have all my loose skin removed. I can't work because it sags so on my legs, I get edema and severe muscle and feet cramps, and I have osteoarithis, so I really need to do something soon. Healthy otherwise. :)
References :
Your best plan is to find a Dr in Wisconsin and let him know your plans to move back to Florida. Also let your Dr in FL know your intentions. You should see a Dr every 4 weeks till the end of you pregnancy but its important to go during your second trimester also for all the testing and blood work etc.
References :
My Dr. and I just discusses this last week. Not all people who go through that are going through it due to being lazy. I have limited things i can do as of exercise as i was a passenger in a car accident that almost broke my neck. My feet are bad and i can't walk much or use a tread mill.

Dr. talked about this due to trying to help me lower my blood pressure, diabetes, high cholestrol, ect.

I will review all the info here and all the sites you listed and talk to my Dr. again. Thank you Ziggy for your information.
References :
Okay, this would probably save you money.

Do not buy ANYTHING with the following ingredients anywhere:
-High Fructose Corn Syrup
-Hydrogenated/Partially Hydrogenated ANYTHING
-Sugar (As one of the first 5 ingredients)

Suggestions: Check out the website Scoobys Workshop. Google that, it has meal suggestions for weight loss and easy workout things for losing weight.

But, since I hate having people list websites and tell me to do it...

Start:
Walk 30 minutes every day.
Eat three meals a day, breakfast - Lunch - Dinner.
Eat a small snack consisting of Fruits or Veggies in between each one when you get hungry.
Make sure each meal does not have over 10% calories from fat.
Try avoiding sugary foods, and fatty foods.
NO SODA AT ALL!!!!!!!
Avoid fast food.
Vegetables will be your best friend, as they are free foods, with almost ZERO calories, ZERO sugar, ZERO carbs, ZERO fat. But high in fiber.

Basic starting routines:
Start with 200 crunches every night.
Along with the 30 minute walk daily.
Jump Rope if you can for at least 5-10 minutes.
Do some lifting (Females: Lifting reduces fat. Males: Lifting builds muscle which helps burn calories later on.)
-Bicep Curls
-Tricep Kickbacks
-Squats (Hands linked behind head)
-Push-ups are always great
-Pull-ups also.

Start there and you'll get there in no time.

MOTIVATION (Because you will get sick of it):
When you want that big bowl of ice-cream... just think: "Would I rather eat this Ice-Cream now, or have a hot body later on?"

Also, write notes to yourself by the snacks telling yourself that, and not to eat it. Write, "Remember, don't eat me. Eat some veggies or fruit instead." It helps!!

Also, hang posters of what you want to look like up in your room to keep you motivated. Seeing your goal helps accomplish it.
(Your friends might be questioning you, but you know what you want, and you want to get it.)

GOOD LUCK!

Hope this helps.
References :
Experience.
And seriously, Check out Scoobys Workshop. Google that site.
It's great and WAY more informative. It's perfect for what you want to do.

You need to see if your insurance would clear it first. Mine would not. We are to be stationed to VA in December, and I am due in February. My doctor told me it would be best, and wise to stay here until the baby is born then after my six week check up move.
Plus a good thing about seeing the same doctor is that they already know what is going on with you. No having to explain blood tests, growth stuff, and so on.
Also my mom use to be an OBGYN, and she said they would never take someone just coming in to get a check one time then leaving.
It all depends on doctors too.

Good luck!
References :
i love how the answer can't be spam. yet the question is.
Gastric bypas is dangerous, and if people wern't so lazy they wouldn't get so fat.
-something i find ironic about the whole gastric bypass situation: If you are not lazy and choose to loose all the wieght on your own, your insurance company will not cover for your extra skin to be removed, but if you have gastric bypass they will. How messed up is that?
References :
Here's a good list of various kinds of healthy types of food, the main thing is to watch your portions too. Just because you eat chicken doesn't make it healthy really if you eat like 2 huge pieces or something. Check out the list though for ideas with foods:

Extra-Lean Proteins---

Bass
Bison
Chicken Breasts
Cod
Crab (try canned, instead of tuna!)
Egg Whites (boxed work well)
Elk
Flounder
Extra Lean Ground Turkey, Chicken, or Beef (at least 95% lean)
Halibut
Protein Powder
Tilapia
Shrimp
Snapper
Tuna
Turkey Breasts

Complex Carbs---

Beans (black,red, brown)
Brown Rice
Cream of Rice
Ezekiel Bread
Grits
Oats
Oat Bran Hot Cereal
Quinoa
Rice Cakes (non-flavored)
Tortillas (corn, rice, or spelt)
Wild Rice
White Potatoes
Wheat Bran (FULL of fiber, perfect for low carb plans)
Yams

Healthy Fats---

Almonds
Avocados
Coconut Oil
Flax Seeds
Flax Oil
Grapeseed Oil
Macadamia Nuts
Natural Peanut Butter (no oil added)
Olive Oil
Pecans
Pumpkin Seeds
Sunflower Seeds
Walnuts

"Free" Veggies (few carbs; mostly fiber)---

Alfalfa Sprouts
Artichoke Hearts
Arugula
Asparagus
Broccoli
Brussels Sprouts
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Celery
Chard
Chicory
Chives
Collard Greens
Cucumbers
Endive
Escarole
Fennel
Kale
Leeks
Lettuce
Mushrooms
Onion
Peppers (GREEN; red and yellow have carbs)
Radicchio
Radishes
Rhubarb
Sauerkraut
Scallions
Spinach
Zucchini

Dieting can be boring so it's good to change it up and try new things! :) It will help you stay on track. I'm 25 now, and in high school I weighed well over 200 lbs. My senior year I got sick of how I looked and decided to lose weight too. At first I did everything wrong, like not eat and take tons of diet pills but even though I lost a lot of weight that way initially, I still wasn't tone. I started going to the gym regularly since I was about 19 and have been going ever since. I've seen a huge difference and only weigh about 150 (I'm tall, 5'9") pounds with lean muscle and am really into fitness and health. Hope this helps you though.

As far as exercise routines it is hard to just post things on here, there are a million different things you can do. I would try to work out 45 minutes to an hour or more, at least 5 or 6 days a week, include cardio and some light weight lifting to tone and build muscle.
Dieting can be boring so it’s good to change it up and try new things! It will help you stay on track. I’m 25 now, and in high school I weighed well over 200 lbs. My senior year I got sick of how I looked and decided to lose weight too. At first I did everything wrong, like not eat and take tons of diet pills but even though I lost a lot of weight that way initially, I still wasn’t tone. I started going to the gym regularly since I was about 19 and have been going ever since. I’ve seen a huge difference and only weigh about 150 (I’m tall, 5′9") pounds with lean muscle and am really into fitness and health. Hope this helps you though.

As far as exercise routines it is hard to just post things on here, there are a million different things you can do. I would try to work out 45 minutes to an hour or more, at least 5 or 6 days a week, include cardio and some light weight lifting to tone and build muscle.
